The Bachelor of Applied Science in Health Services Administration (HSA) is looking for adjunct instructors to teach Health Services Administration Courses beginning Fall 2023.
Under general supervision, the Adjunct Professor, Health Services Administration will develop, prepare, and teach a variety of coursework in the Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Health Services Administration. Courses taught include health care administration and management, U.S. and global health care systems, health care automation and technology, health care research, epidemiology and public health, health care law, and quality management in the health care field.- Responsibilities and Duties
- Plan, organize, and deliver instruction in the BAS Health Services Administration program in didactic, laboratory and/or classroom settings to promote student success within a community college setting.
- Support and promote the college and department missions centered on excellence in teaching and learning through quality instruction, curriculum enhancement, and service.
- Collaborate with department chair, faculty, and peers to evaluate, revise, and develop curriculum to cultivate the mastery of course content.
- Provide students with frequent, timely assessment of and clear feedback regarding academic performance.
- Commitment to students and excellence in undergraduate education.
- Provide guidance with issues of student performance and work in a constructive manner to ensure student success and student retention department/program goals.
- Develop, manage, report, and assess student, course, and program learning outcomes.
- Strictly honor the privacy, security and confidentiality of student records and other sensitive information according to appropriate state, federal and college regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Teach in on-line and hybrid environments, including instruction via Learning Management System.
- Promote quality rigorous instruction and engagement, curriculum enhancement, student success/learning, student retention, and faculty scholarship.
- Collaborate with other faculty and staff in the department and College to develop, evaluate, and revise curriculum to help ensure mastery of material.
- Collaborate with lead faculty in developing and implementing technology-based instructional components for all assigned classes.
- Participate in staff and committee meetings and work as requested.
- Demonstrate ability to cooperate in a team setting.
- Possess and share real-world experience in lessons and classroom discussions.
- Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible and professional engagement.
- Collaborate with the departmental Chair, lead faculty, department faculty and staff, and other College officials in implementing College/program policies, objectives, program standards and functions in accordance with the College’s mission, vision, and goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Qualifications
Required: Master’s degree in Health Services Administration, Health Care Administration or a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in a relevant field is required.
Additional Requirements: A criminal background check will be conducted.
Preferred: Candidates with college-level teaching experience and the ability to incorporate appropriate instructional technology, including online instruction, into coursework are preferred. Candidate with online teaching experience is preferred.- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Communication – able to effectively communicate in a professional, diplomatic, empathetic, and tactful manner using preferred method and level as applicable to the job.
- Systems & Software - proficient level of knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or relevant position software programs.
- Ability to work successfully in a multi-cultural environment.
